Hot Spot For Identity Theft Hackers

According to Early Show Consumer Correspondent, Susan Koeppen, Nine thousand (9,000) have fell victim to Identity Theft hackers. This is an easy way for identity thieves everywhere to get information. With free wi-fi at coffee shops, airports, hotels, and everywhere that computers are set up, security experts say that one thousand ($1,000) worth of data can be taken from bank accounts, credit cards, etc., by computer hackers.

Hackers can do anything that you can do on your computer, and you will never know. Your every move can be followed on-line by hackers. They set up bogus wi-fi access points and wait for unsuspecting wi-fi users. Values in bank accounts can be changed. With more than two hundred and twenty thousand (220,000) public wi-fi spots in the United States, you can not always trust security measures to keep your information safe.

Even I-phones can be attacked from a computer. Do not use wi-fi for confidential information. You can get a pass code or code from the coffee shop or hotel clerk. Use a Virtual Private Network(VPN) to protect your personal information. You can also set up your VPN. Find software that you can download for free. Be safe when using wi-fi with your computer.
